A Shower of Jasmine (1954)

A Shower of Jasmine (1954)

A Shower of Jasmine presents jasmine flowers raining down against a black background. The composition’s austerity recalls the Spanish seventeenth-century artists Zurbáran and Arellano. Dalí was fond of the jasmine flower, which produced his favorite scent; often he was photographed wearing the flower as adornment.
