Workshop: Olfactory Impressions

  • This event has passed.

February 22 @ 6:00pm 8:30pm

In conjunction with our special exhibition, Dalí & the Impressionists: Monet, Renoir, Degas & More, we welcome you to join us for a perfume-making workshop based on two Impressionist paintings in the exhibit: Matisse’s Vase of Flowers and Dali’s Port of Cadaques (Night).

After learning about the connections between fragrances and impressions, you’ll visit the galleries to see the chosen works in situ and view the special exhibition. Afterward, you’ll learn about the two works and the chosen notes for the fragrances before trying your hand at creating a sample of your chosen fragrance to take home with you. Perfume artist Georgia Hardage will supply all the materials you need to make your perfume sample and will lead the instruction.

Location: The Raymond James Community Room
Cost: $60 for Museum members | $70 for non-members
Gallery access and all materials are included.

Georgia Hardage is a local Multi-Media Perfume Artist born and raised in St. Petersburg, FL. Her first art show was in high school in 2009 where she displayed her ceramic sculptures and surreal jewelry at The Dalí Museum. While she works with various art forms, Georgia focuses primarily on natural perfumes. In 2019, she created Aura Perfumery, a completely natural perfume house influenced by perfume history and traditional, environmentally conscious ways of making perfumes. Telling stories through scent, the first sense that humans experience from birth, has become her favorite form of artistic expression.
