The Dalí Benefit Teen Fashion Show at Neiman Marcus
February 9 @ 6:00pm – 8:00pm
presented by neiman marcus
The Dalí Museum and Neiman Marcus invite you to enter the dream world of Neiman Marcus fashions and surreal works of wearable art created by Fashion Design at The Dalí teen designers. Join us for complimentary drinks & hors d’oeuvres and the opportunity to meet some of Tampa Bay’s up-and-coming fashion designers who completed The 2022 Fashion Design at The Dalí program at The Dalí Benefit Teen Fashion Show. Students will join Neiman Marcus models on the runway as they strut their original designs beside the season’s hottest styles.
The program, sponsored by Neiman Marcus, LaRocco & Associates and Fanatics, invites Tampa Bay area high school students to learn the fundamentals of design, construction and runway presentation to create tangible connections between Dalí’s art and fashion. Using selected works from The Dalí Museum as their inspiration, students explored advanced sewing techniques and non-traditional materials to bring their ideas from rendering to reality.
This year’s theme, The Shape of Dreams, challenged students to create concepts that incorporate the visual cues that evoke the feeling or setting of a dream. The subconscious expression seen so often in Dalí’s work taught them to draw from their own experiences, memories and imaginative elements, to show us the shape of their dreams. Winning designs from the program will be showcased in a display at Neiman Marcus in Tampa’s International Plaza in January prior to the event on February 9.
Location: Neiman Marcus at International Plaza (2223 N. Westshore Blvd., Tampa)
The store will be closed to the public so please enter through the porte cochere at the first floor men’s entrance.
Cost: $75 (proceeds benefit The Dalí Museum’s educational programming)
