The Shape of Dreams

Join us for this installment of our Coffee with a Curator series, where Museum Staff or invited guests speak on a range of Dalí-inspired topics.

In this month’s talk, Dalí Museum Executive Director Dr. Hank Hine, will explore our new special exhibition, The Shape of Dreams. Hine will focus on the source, nature and utility of dreams as explored through over 500 years of artistic expression. Traversing the wide terrain of dream as seen through various lenses—metaphysical or religious, psychological, scientific—this talk will explore how artists through the centuries have asked fundamental questions about how the waking world shapes the dream, and how the dream has, and can, lead to new understandings of the self and the world.
