October 22, 2024

New Immersive Show Celebrates the Iconic Album in 360 Degrees of Sight, Sound and Sensation

The Dalí Museum presents “Pink Floyd: The Dark Side of the Moon in The Dalí Dome, offering a mind-bending audiovisual experience. This mesmerizing show pushes the boundaries of creativity, inviting audiences to engage with Pink Floyd’s iconic 1973 album, more than 50 years after its debut.

Premiering Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, this show marks the first new experience in The Dalí Dome, following the successful world premiere of Dalí Alive 360° last year. Evening Pink Floyd shows will be available on most Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through Dec. 21, 2024; Dalí Alive 360° continues during regular Museum hours.

“Inspired by Salvador Dalí’s environmental and immersive artistic creations such as the pavilion he designed for the 1939 New York World’s Fair, The Dalí Dome provides the community with new multisensory experiences celebrating art of all forms,” said Dalí Museum Director Hank Hine. “We’re excited to be able to debut new offerings in this unique, immersive 360-degree format, particularly at a time when we look to uplift our community and provide a space of inspiration.”

Within the monumental Dalí Dome, the 42-minute Pink Floyd experience combines breathtaking 360-degree visuals with immersive surround sound, creating a sensory journey that transcends reality. Each song has a different theme, some futuristic and some a retro acknowledgment to Pink Floyd’s visual history, taking viewers through time and space.

The band, renowned for their revolutionary impact on the music industry, has embraced how this new visual experience artfully blends the album’s themes of everyday modern life with breathtaking views of the solar system and beyond. NSC Creative led the production efforts, working closely with Pink Floyd’s long-time creative collaborator Aubrey Powell from Hipgnosis, who was inspired by Salvador Dali and Surrealism.

The film is distributed by HUBBLO, the distribution arm of Montréal production company Fig55, a key player in the international distribution of immersive works, with support by Québec Government Office in Miami. The Dalí Museum is the only host of this production in Florida during this time.
