JOB TITLE: Graphic Designer – Temporary (Jul-Dec 2022)
Work on-site required (full time preferred, minimum 2-3 days per week)
40 hours/week

The Graphic Designer creates visual content that helps bring The Dalí Museum brand to life and keeps it consistent across all touch points. This contract position reports to the Marketing Director and supports most departments within the organization providing a sweeping range of projects. This position requires a solid foundation in graphic design including the understanding of branding, typography, color and composition. This person should have a strong sense of style and a refined visual aesthetic.

The position is temporary/contract for six months starting ~July 2022. Following the term, there may be additional, ad-hoc design work on an hourly or project basis.


  • Learn and maintain The Dalí Museum brand style guide 
  • Assess each graphic design project including reviewing creative briefs and coordinating with the requestor; Translate requests into compelling visuals that meet the objectives  
  • Layout and design marketing materials such as flyers & brochures, letters/postcards, print ads, web banners, billboards, etc.
  • Layout and design signs (printed and digital) for wayfinding around the Museum
  • Design environmental elements for exhibition spaces, including large vinyl wall or floor graphics and informational text panels
  • Consult on occasional merchandise designs such as book layouts and T-shirts
  • Provide brand-related creative assets as requested including logos, fonts, templates, style guides and photography
  • Provide light copy editing in order to streamline provided information into compelling design 
  • Schedule the production of non-advertising based print jobs (i.e. flyers, signage) including coordinating with printers to obtain estimates, conduct press-checks and install (as applicable)
  • Ensure timely delivery of design projects including prioritizing (with Marketing Director) projects and establishing & communicating timelines
  • Maintain organized design files on server and hard-copy samples


  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Understanding of digital and new media
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable working in project management tools, like Asana
  • Knowledge of the use of digital cameras, scanners, printers and related equipment

Ideal background & skills for this position include:

  • 3+ years’ graphic design experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Art, Fine Arts, Graphic Design or related discipline
  • Strong portfolio of work demonstrating a high degree of creativity, diversity and productivity
  • Keen understanding of branding and implementation; great eye for color, layout, typography
  • Understanding of printing and production procedures
  • Understanding of spatial design and ability to create scalable mockups
  • Editing skills (for layout purposes) required; writing skills a major plus
  • Working knowledge of marketing strategy (to decipher briefs and design creative that meets strategic goals)
  • Must be able to manage time effectively, multi-task, and work in a deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent social, written and verbal communication skills to work with a diverse group of people
  • Understanding of trends and best practices for using graphics to communicate effectively

JOB TITLE: App & AV Coordinator

The App & AV Coordinator maintains the day-to-day functionality of the Museum’s App and coordinates with the app provider, as needed, for new implementations or issues as they arise.

This position assists the IT Technicians and the AV Lead with technical functions of the Museum’s digital experiences and provides AV support for Museum events, exhibitions and daily activities.



  • Maintain content within the CMS (content management system), and:
    • Prepare and load new/updated content for special exhibitions (images, text, MP3 files)
    • Collect Museum events from the website and prepare & load into the CMS; regularly review the site for event updates and upload the app content accordingly 
    • Upload coupons and push notifications prepared by Marketing
  • Report any identified issues to app-partner and/or Associate Director of Visitor Experience
  • Work with Finance to ensure a smooth flow from the app to the ticketing system for purchases and donations  
  • Regularly pull data from the back-end system, organize and deliver to Marketing to analyze
  • Use data/analyses, industry trends and visitor feedback to assist Associate Director with proposed enhancements to the app


  • Set up microphones, projectors for presentations and lighting for Museum events
  • Provide day-to-day AV/digital support for Museum activities as needed such as setting up meeting room projectors or LED screens and updating the Museum’s BrightSign players
  • Assist AV Lead in maintaining inventory of all digital, audio and A/V supplies and equipment
  • Assist with on-site AV for digitally-focused exhibitions including but not limited to: installation, training and troubleshooting of equipment
  • Attend weekly internal events meeting & other meetings as needed


  • Working knowledge of Digital and AV equipment such as mixers, microphones, Crestron Digital Media AV system or similar, projectors, flat-screen monitors
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to trouble shoot AV/digital equipment during high pressure situations
  • Be a team player and facilitate cooperation among co-workers, vendors and clients while also working autonomously with high productivity
  • Ability to follow priorities & meet deadlines while balancing demands of multiple projects  
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Work schedule must be flexible, and will include both weekday and weekend hours, sometimes exceeding an 8-hour workday
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (15-20 pounds). Occasionally required to lift at least 50 lbs. for set up and tear down of tables, chairs and objects.
