Workshop: Screenwriting

In conjunction with our special exhibition Dalí in America, we invite you to join a screenwriting workshop led by playwright Bill Leavengood. Participants will learn the fundamentals of screenwriting, with an emphasis on visual storytelling—crafting narratives through imagery and movement.
The workshop also includes a visit to the Dali in America exhibition, offering a glimpse into Salvador Dalí’s time in the United States, including his collaborations on Alfred Hitchcock’s dream sequence in Spellbound (1945) and Walt Disney’s Destino (1946).
Location: The Dalí Museum’s Raymond James Community Room

Bill Leavengood
Bill Leavengood is a two-time Eugene O’Neill playwright, alumnus of Circle Repertory and recipient of the 2024 Best of the Bay Playwright from Creative Loafing in Tampa. He is the author of over 50 plays, screenplays and librettos for musicals which have received numerous productions regionally and in New York at Primary Stages and Circle Rep, among others. He has directed over 50 stage productions, both amateur and professional. In his other career, he has taught Theatre, Film Screenwriting and Playwriting at the college, high school and professional level for 30 years. Learn more here.
