The Dalí Dome

Design and Structure

Opened in the summer of 2023, The Dalí Dome is a unique space designed to showcase art like never before. Spanning over 2,000 square feet, standing 39 feet tall and stretching more than 60 feet wide, The Dome features 14 projectors hung from a central truss in the ceiling that project onto the walls and floor, creating a fully immersive experience. This monumental structure took just over a year to build and reflects the Museum’s commitment to innovation and education.

The Dome’s geodesic structure is both striking and robust, constructed with over 500 structural-grade carbon steel rods, a concrete and rebar perimeter wall and specialized architectural-grade inner coverings. Designed to withstand potential floods and hurricanes at its waterfront location, The Dome complements the free-form glass bubble known as “The Enigma” on the Museum’s award-winning building, echoing the geodesic domes that adorn Dalí’s museum in Spain.

Visitors can also marvel at the distinctive outer design, which features Dalí’s famous melting clocks from The Disintegration of the Persistence of Memory—making the building itself a tribute to the artist’s imagination and surreal vision.

an immersive experience

Featuring state-of-the-art 360-degree projections and surround sound, The Dalí Dome transports visitors into the heart of artistic stories. Inspired by Dalí’s own environmental and immersive creations, such as those for the 1939 World’s Fair, The Dome offers multi-sensory experiences that celebrate art of all forms. Its debut presentation, Dalí Alive 360°, explores the life, work and creative journey of Salvador Dalí, with new shows continuing to be presented in this extraordinary format.
