After you receive the email confirmation of your visit:

  • Review your confirmation email carefully, including any links to educator resources.
  • Go over Museum etiquette with your students before arriving.
  • Chaperones must accompany students at all times, maintaining a ratio of one chaperone per 10 students. This applies in the galleries, Avant-Garden, Museum Store, Café Gala, Theater and restrooms. Please note: If you plan to shop in the Museum Store or grab lunch at Café Gala, only card payments are accepted at this time.
  • If your group plans to eat lunch during the visit, please note that the Museum does not provide a dedicated lunch space. How can I prep for our visit?

We offer a variety of materials and experiences to help you get the most out of your visit:

  • The Dalí Museum’s Surrealism: The Big Ideas video is available to watch in preparation for your field trip. For younger viewers, Dalí on the Fly is an excellent resource to introduce students to Surrealism.
  • Grade-specific lesson plans and our Digital Activity Book are available to engage students.
  • We encourage you to explore the free Dalí Museum mobile guide prior to your visit to enhance your experience, featuring audio guides to tour the Museum’s permanent collection and current special exhibition, as well as an Augmented Reality feature that allows visitors to view animation of the masterworks in the gallery.
  • There are two Dalí Lives screens on the first floor, where students may interact with a life-like AI-generated Salvador Dalí, including taking a selfie with the artist as they exit the Museum.
  • Our Experience Book is available for review to better assist guests with accessibility needs.

Please note: headphones are not provided nor required, but are compatible if you choose to bring them.

What are we allowed to bring inside the Museum?

Notebooks, pencils, cameras and cellphones are welcome in the Museum during your tour. Please ensure all cellphones are silenced and all camera flashes have been disabled.

Please note: Backpacks, backpack-style purses, large camera bags, lunch boxes and water bottles are NOT permitted at the Museum. These items should remain on the bus or in private vehicles.

What if I need to change my reservation date or arrival time?

Reservation date and arrival time changes can be made directly with the scheduling office at Groups@TheDali.org or by calling 727.623.4778. We will make every effort to reschedule your visit; however, this may not be guaranteed.

All ticket sales are final, no refunds can be accommodated.

Can I add more students upon arrival?

Requests for additional students at the reduced Homeschool rate must be reported and confirmed 72 hours prior to the arrival at the Museum. Otherwise, walk-up tickets are available during Museum operating hours and as space allows (cards only, no cash accepted).

Where may the buses and cars park?

There are currently two bus parking spaces in the Museum lot, which are free on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note: Private vehicles are subject to a $10.00 parking fee in the Museum’s lot.

We’re bringing lunch from home. Where may students eat their lunches?

Students are welcome to enjoy their lunches in the plaza area between the Museum and the Mahaffey Theater or at the Albert Whitted Park (down Dan Wheldon Way). The former has benches located around the plaza and shade under the trees. The latter is located on the water and offers beautiful views of Tampa Bay.

Please Note: Outside food is not permitted within the Museum or the Avant-garden.

How long will I be able to stay in the gallery? Is there a time limit in the gallery?

We ask that our guests enjoy their visit at their leisure. There is no limit to how long you can spend in the gallery. Should you need a break at any point during your visit, there is plenty of safe space to step back, including the Avant-garden, contemplation room in the James Family Wing and Café Gala.
