Celebrate National Poetry Month with Poetry at The Dalí, an ongoing series hosted by former St. Petersburg Poet Laureate Helen Pruitt Wallace, featuring select poets on the second Thursday of each month.
This month’s installment is presented in conjunction with the City of St. Petersburg’s City of Writers Poetry Festival.

This event is held on the ground floor of the Museum (gallery access not included). Access to the Museum’s ground floor is free and open to the public.

Helen Pruitt Wallace has published individual poems in several journals and anthologies. Individual books include Shimming the Glass House, and a chapbook, Pink Streets. A former Poet Laureate of St. Petersburg, she is the curator of The Dalí Poetry series.
Asa Drake is a Filipina/white poet in Central Florida. She is the author of Maybe the Body (Tin House, 2026) and Beauty Talk (Noemi Press, 2026), winner of the 2024 Noemi Press Book Award. A National Poetry Series finalist, she is the recipient of fellowships and awards from the 92Y Discovery Poetry Contest, Kenyon Review Residential Writers Workshop, the Rona Jaffe Foundation, Storyknife, Sundress Publications, Tin House and Idyllwild Arts. Her poems are published or forthcoming in the American Poetry Review, Georgia Review, Poetry and Sewanee Review. A former librarian, she currently works as a teaching artist.
Samyak Shertok’s debut collection, No Rhododendron (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2025), was selected by Kimiko Hahn for the 2024 AWP Donald Hall Prize for Poetry and shortlisted for the 2026 PEN Open Book Award. His poems appear in The Cincinnati Review, The Gettysburg Review, The Iowa Review, The Kenyon Review, POETRY, Shenandoah, Waxwing, Best New Poets and elsewhere. His work has been awarded the Robert and Adele Schiff Award for Poetry, the Gulf Coast Prize in Poetry and the Auburn Witness Poetry Prize. Originally from Nepal, he is an Assistant Professor of English at Mississippi State University.
