Poetry at The Dalí is an ongoing series hosted by former poet laureate of St. Petersburg, Helen Pruitt Wallace, featuring select poets on the second Thursday of each month.

This event is held on the ground floor of the Museum (gallery access not included). Access to the Museum’s ground floor is free and open to the public.

Helen Pruitt Wallace has published individual poems in several journals and anthologies. Individual books include Shimming the Glass House, and a chapbook, Pink Streets. A former Poet Laureate of St. Petersburg, she is the curator of The Dalí Poetry series. 

Asa Drake is a Filipina/white poet in Central Florida. She is the author of Beauty Talk, winner of the 2024 Noemi Press Book Award, forthcoming from Noemi Press in Spring 2026. Her chapbook, One Way to Listen (Gold Line Press), is the winner of a 2023 Florida Book Award. A National Poetry Series finalist, she is the recipient of fellowships and awards from the 92Y Discovery Poetry Contest, Sundress Publications, Tin House and Idyllwild Arts. Her poems can be found on The Slowdown Podcast, The American Poetry Review, and Poetry Daily.

Rick Campbell is a poet and essayist living on Alligator Point, Florida. His most recent book of poetry is Fish Streets Before Dawn (Press 53). A collection of essays, Sometimes the Light (Main Street Rag Press) was published in 2022. Other Poetry collections include Provenance; Gunshot, Peacock, Dog; The History of Steel; Dixmont; Setting the World in Order; The Traveler’s Companion, and A Day’s Work. His poems and essays have appeared in many journals and anthologies, including The Georgia Review, Fourth River, Kestrel, Alabama Literary Review, and Prairie Schooner. He’s won a Pushcart Prize and a NEA Fellowship in Poetry. He teaches part-time at Fairmont State University.
