As we celebrate the dynamic collaborations, interactions and creative works of Dalí & Schiaparelli, we are mindful that fashion and style are part of everyday life, influencing both self-perception and the impressions we make upon others. One of Elsa Schiaparelli’s 12 Commandments is that Women should listen and ask for competent criticism and advice. (We think men will also benefit from that wisdom.)
We are grateful to have an opportunity to partner with a source of essential advice for unemployed and/or underemployed women in need of professional attire and to help them thrive in work and in life: Dress for Success Tampa Bay, a nonprofit organization assisting women with advice, training, support and motivation.
Museum visitors are invited to donate new or gently used handbags, scarves, belts, brooches, necklaces, bracelets and earrings to our Fashion Accessory Drive October 18, 2017–January 14, 2018. As a thank you, you will receive $2 off admission to the Museum on the day of your donation.
In addition to the Fashion Accessory Drive, the Museum is offering select Dress for Success clients an education program that includes a private docent-led gallery tour of the new Dalí & Schiaparelli exhibit and a motivational Lunch & Learn.

I just wanted to thank you and all those who have helped me establish myself in the area workforce. I followed up with the mentors DFS assigned to me and took their advice on retaining my position. I especially paid attention to the professional demeanor they suggested I establish in order to advance. Within 5 months I was assigned to assist in the training of the new members of the department. Please tell the current participants not to give up. I had been out of work for 6 months, my unemployment benefits were exhausted and I was living on a credit card. My salary is less than what I was accustomed to, the job is far from my dream job, but it pays the bills, I have benefits and it and allows me the flexibility to take my classes. I am so incredibly grateful.
