Each month, The Dali Museum’s Zodiac Membership Committee hosts members-only special events. In March, Zodiac Committee Host Marysia Lopez invites Dali Museum members on a private tour of Bleu Acier Print Shop. No food or drink will be offered on site, but Mortar & Pestle will be offering 15% off to Dali Museum members and Brew Bus will be offering 10% off, for lunch before the tour.
About Bleu Acier
Bleu Acier Inc. is a limited edition fine art print publisher and collaborative workshop. The atelier specializes in Intaglio, Photogravure, Stone Lithography, Relief and Monotype. Bleu Acier collaborates with artists on limited editions and multiples that possess the strength and drive of their work in other media. These often very rare editions integrate the overall vision of the artist’s oeuvre. Bleu Acier has published works by Dominique Labauvie, Pierre Mabille, Bernar Venet, Paula Scher, Joe Fyfe, Sylvie Eyberg, Olive Ayhens, and Marie Yoho Dorsey. After living and working in Paris, France for 20 years, Master Printer Erika Greenberg-Schneider established Bleu Acier in 2003 in Tampa, Florida. The atelier specializes in Intaglio, Photogravure, Stone Lithography, Relief and Monotype. In 2011, Erika was Knighted by the French Government as Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres for the work she does promoting French Artists and Culture.
As a collaborative Master Printer, Erika has worked with artists such as Roberto Enchurien Matta, Jean Dubuffet, Pierre Alechinsky, Beverly Pepper, Georg Baselitz, Chuck Close, Jonathan Horowitz and Jane Hammond.
Dominique Lebauvie (the steel sculptor):
Dominique Labauvie lives and works in Tampa, Florida. Educated at the Beaux Art in Paris, France, he had his first one-man show at the Gallery Jordan in Paris in 1985. In 1986, Labauvie spent a year working in Freiburg/Breisgau, Dusseldorf, Cologne and Berlin. Since 1977, Labauvie has received numerous commissions for Public Sculptures in Europe and the United States. In 2001 he was the subject of a retrospective exhibition of sculpture and drawings at the Coral Springs Museum in Florida. In 2009, he had his first New York solo exhibition, “Turning Point” at Haim Chanin Fine Arts. In August of 2010, “Musical Lines in My Hand” opened at the new Tampa Museum of Art. His work has been exhibited all over Europe, Japan and the United States in galleries, museums and cultural venues. Dominique Labauvie’s work is included in major public and private collections, including: The BNY | Mellon Corporate Collection, Pittsburgh, PA., The National Collection of Contemporary Art, France; Regional Collections of Art of Alsace, Paris, Languedoc Roussillon, France; The Runnymeade Collection in San Francisco; The Boca Raton Museum of Art, Boca Raton, Florida; the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, Florida; and The Tampa Museum of Art.
