Tied is an avant-garde dance work by Black Horse Theatre…danse macabre at its brightest, under the direction of image maker Alice Ferrulo Stampfle.
The Story, in Stampfle’s words:
Louise Davies, of England’s Victorian Era, is a displaced spirit at the bottom of the North Sea, to which her marriage to Sir Giles Atwood she brought a shotgun and over three thousand pairs of shoes. Smothered by her husband’s affections and tormented by an unfulfilled desire to pursue her musical talents, she searches for purpose. Having born only one son, Samuel, who at eighteen months perished in a horrific house fire, what will be her legacy? Sir Giles fatally shot by her hand, it was an accident, she seeks solace in her solitude. Summoned is her butler, Roland, to await delivery of her soul upon resolve. Awaits he still.
