Experience Opera at The Dalí, as singers from The St. Petersburg Opera Company perform on the helical staircase.

From the cast of The Merry Widow, John-Andrew Fernandez and Dylan Morrongiello will be accompanied by Teresa Ancaya at the Dali Museum on Thursday, Oct. 17 from 6 to 6:30 p.m.


John Andrew

John-Andrew Fernandez, baritone. John-Andrew’s colorful voice, athletic stage presence and artistic performances are garnering acclaim from critics and audiences across the USA, Europe and Asia. Recent engagements include Damaso, the leading baritone role in Noli Me Tangere at the National Theater in Manila, Philippines and at the Kennedy Center, Washington, D.C.,  excerpts from Die tote Stadt with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Mercuzio in Romeo e Giulietta at the Teatro Avvaloranti, Italy, concerts in Dornstetten, Germany, Silvio in I Pagliacci for Knoxville Opera and Schaunard in La Bohème for Winter Opera St. Louis.


Dylan Morrongiello, tenor. Known for his “over-the-top committed” portrayals and “agile character tenor,” is an emerging tenor from Indialantic, Florida. He has recently appeared as Goro in Madama Butterfly at Central City Opera; Don Basilio/Curzio in Le nozze di Figaro and Mr. Ford in Frida at Florida Grand Opera; and Schoolmaster/Mosquito in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen and Ali Hakim in Oklahoma! at The Glimmerglass Festival. Additionally, Dylan has made concert appearances with Bach Society Houston and Da Camera of Houston.





Teresa Ancaya, Pianist
Teresa Ancaya is a piano soloist and accompanist in the Tampa Bay area.  She holds a Bachelor and Master of Music in piano performance from the University of South Florida, Tampa. She continued post-graduate piano accompaniment study at Salzburg University, Austria.  Teresa has accompanied faculty and students at several universities and colleges. Teresa was a soloist with The Florida Orchestra and Imperial Symphony Orchestra. In 2013, she performed at Carnegie Hall with USF Chamber Singers. In addition to playing the piano, Teresa sang in the chorus of Opera Tampa’s Cavalleria RusticanaPagliacci, and Aïda. She has accompanied and performed for VOICExperience, a program founded by Sherrill Milnes.  Currently she serves as a staff accompanist at USF. Teresa also works closely with St. Petersburg Opera Company, Opera Tampa, The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay, The Florida Orchestra and has performed in countless operas and musicals.
