About Fashion Design at The Dalí
Fashion Design at The Dalí is a free program where high school students can learn the fundamentals of design, construction, and runway presentation from experienced artists and designers. This year’s theme was Dalí in Film: From Sketch to Screen. Inspired by Dalí’s film projects, budding high school designers (9th -12th grade) from the Tampa Bay area created tangible connections between, art, film, and fashion. From Hitchcock to Disney, silent films to animation, Dalí created iconic visuals that are both surreal and whimsical. Selected designs will win prizes during a virtual event and will displayed at Neiman Marcus located in Tampa’s International Plaza April 1 – June 30, 2021.
Student designs may also be viewed in person via the See, Sip & Shop event presented by Neiman Marcus event on April 1, 2021. Proceeds for this event provide crucial support for the Museum’s educational programs. Preview students’ designs and inspirations in an online exhibit.
