Docent Dialogues: A Dalí Deep Dive

Join us for Dalí Deep Dive, where an experienced Dalí Museum docent will dive deep into aspects of The Dalí Museum’s collection. Included in the price of admission and intended to accompany a visit to the Museum’s permanent collection, this hour-long lecture is presented by a trained Dalí Museum Docent and occurs every Wednesday at 3pm in the Will Raymund Theater. Seating is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. You will be asked to show your general admission ticket prior to entry.
In this lecture, a Docent will share Salvador Dalí’s life and ideas featuring key Salvador Dalí works at The Dalí. The talk will situate Salvador Dalí in his early years in the Catalan region of Spain, and highlight how exploring his dreams enabled him to become one of the key surrealist artists in Paris. His escape to the United States during World War II enabled Dalí to work in Hollywood, and with his return to Spain, he created a new post-war style called “Nuclear Mysticism.” The talk concludes with the exploration of several key Dalí Masterworks, and the establishing of his legacy through his own museum in Spain and the Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg.
A Dalí Museum general admission ticket or member reservation is required to attend. Space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Reserve your general admission ticket for 2pm, 2:30pm or 3pm time slot, then stop by the Info Station upon arrival to check availability of this educational introduction to the Dalí Museum collection.
