Dalí Talks: Elizabeth Taylor, Dali, Amanda Lear, & Me – Presented by Vicky Tiel
Vicky Tiel is an American-born fashion designer who established her career in Paris, France. Her talk will cover her career, Dalí and other celebrities she worked with, and life lessons learned in the world of fashion. In 1968, Tiel became partners with Elizabeth Taylor in the Mia-Vicky couture house. In Paris, she encountered Salvador Dalí and Amanda Lear at her house of Couture and had Amanda model at one of her shows. Tiel created the first mini dress, the wrap dress worldwide, lace pantyhose, and the first hot pants in Paris. And Tiel is the longest lasting female fashion designer in Paris – 55 years. Tiel is a couture designer and has her own line of clothes and fragrances on the Home Shopping Network. She created the Pretty Woman dress used in the movie and is the author of the book, It’s All About The Dress: What I Learned in Forty Years About Men, Women, Sex and Fashion published in 2011, and recently The Absolute Woman: It’s All About Feminine Power. This talk will be followed by Q&A and book signing.
