School Tour Booking Guidelines

Before completing a reservation for a school tour, please carefully read the following information.

  • If you are planning to eat lunch at the Museum, please be aware that the Museum does not offer a dedicated space to have lunch on the grounds. Neighboring parks are often available (The Plaza between the Mahaffey Theater and the Dali as well as Albert Whitted Park across from the Dali, when available) The area offers little shade at lunchtime. Please be conscious of the weather on the day of your trip.
  • School lunches are available for purchase from the Museum Cafe.  Please contact John Ruetz, Manager of Cafe Gala for details by email: cafegala5@gmail.com or by phone: 727-234-5566.
  • Guided tours are only offered Tuesday through Friday at 10 a.m. and 12 noon. Please note that these times are for the 10 a.m. and 12 noon hour blocks. Should your group arrive late, your tour will be shortened to accommodate the amount of time left in your designated hour. This is our policy due to the number of tours scheduled throughout the day. Thank you for your understanding.
  • The Museum’s policy for chaperones:

There is a minimum of one (1) chaperone per ten (10) students

Please note that any chaperones above the 1:10 ratio (during the school year) will be charged $18.75 for admission on the day of the tour.

Chaperones are required to stay with their groups at all times.

  • Because of special events that are held at the Museum, there may be some days that school tours will not be available. Please ask ahead of time!
  • Teachers, a pre-visit to the Museum can be arranged through the Volunteer Office for a selected date and time. Requests for this visit can be made at the time the tour is scheduled. Pre-visit only applies to the field trip coordinator. For further information on this service, please email Pam Whiteaker: pwhiteaker@thedali.org.
