“If someday I die, though it may never happen, I hope that the people in the cafes in Figueres will say, Dali has died, but not entirely.” Salvador Dali
Salvador Dali is the most famous and controversial artist in the 20th Century. His artwork is unforgettable and immensely popular. The Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida holds the largest collection of his art outside Spain. More than 2,100 works including 96 oil paintings richly present his entire career, making The Dali the only museum in the Southeast granted three stars by the Michelin Guide. The Dali has more visitors than any other museum in Florida.
The new Dali Museum opened on January 11, 2011 following the successful completion of a $38 million capital campaign. Thanks to the generosity of our community, the City of St. Petersburg and the State of Florida, the dream for an architectural icon is now a reality. Dali’s amazing works of art finally have a home designed specifically for this collection. And the collection is secured on the third floor, protected from even a Category Five hurricane storm surge.
Now it is time to secure our future.
The Dali Endowment will ensure a promising future for The Dali Museum. Endowment gifts are permanently restricted and managed in investment funds to produce income and increase principal. Income annually generated by these invested funds support priorities of The Dali Museum; its organizational stability; the protection and preservation of the collection; the acquisition of new works; and ensuring our continued accessibility for education and scholarship.
Please assure the continuity of the Dali’s future with a gift to the Dali Endowment today. There are many variations on ways to donate including gifts of cash, stock, credit card payments and IRA transfers. To learn how you can support The Dali Endowment with a bequest or planned gift, please go to the Leave a Legacy tab on this website. Naming opportunities remain and all gifts of $5000 and above will be recognized in perpetuity in the museum lobby. Please contact Amy Miller, Assistant Development Director at 727.623.4777 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a visit.
