Persistence of Memory Memoir Writing Workshop: Kickstart Your Memoir

Thursday, Apr. 17th, 11:00AM–2:00PM
  • This event has passed.

Margo Hammond, former book editor of the St. Petersburg Times and founder of the Creative Late Bloomers blog, conducts memoir-writing workshops using specific Dali paintings and writings as catalysts for memoir writing. After studying the paintings in class, participants are encouraged to mine their own pasts, particularly their childhoods, refine those memories and artistically transform them into a story that reflects their personal experiences – just as Dali did both on the canvas and on paper. Beginners and non-writers welcome.

For more information, please contact Bethany Mead, Education Coordinator by e-mail: bmead@thedali.org or by phone: 727.623.4730

Cost: $65; $35 Dali Members. Purchase 3 workshops, get the fourth free ($195; $105 Dali Members). Workshop in the Dali Museum Education Classroom. Light refreshments and access to the galleries on the day of class included. Lunch can be purchased for 25% discount from Cafe Gala (may not be combined with other discounts). Parking is $5, free for Dali members.
