Experience Opera at The Dali, a collaboration with St. Petersburg College. Opera at The Dali introduces audiences to emerging opera artists through dynamic 30-minute performances every month. Performances are free to the public. Opera is performed from the Spiral Staircase.
This special program will feature The Three Tenors from SPC, singing Mexican art songs by Manuel M. Ponce (1882-1948) known as the Dean of Mexican Art Song, including his famous Estrellita, as well as songs by Maria Graver (1885-1951), the first female Mexican musician to become a renowned composer. Her most famous song, Jurame will be performed.
Following The Three Tenors, Esther Aline Schneider will perform three songs in French. Schneider is a junior at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University pursuing a Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance. She studies under Carlos Montane. Esther has sung in the choruses of 6 opera productions during her three years at the Jacobs. She has just been accepted to participate in the Apprentice Program of the Miami Music Festival for this summer 2017.
