The Genius Next Door: An interactive evening with the brightest minds in St. Petersburg

Thursday, Oct. 16, 6–7:30pm
  • This event has passed.

Get a rapid-fire grounding in the newest knowledge in science, art, education and business. The Genius Next Door is a one-hour interactive evening series.

Featuring speakers from USF:

Dr. Carl Pacini is an Associate Professor in Accounting in the College of Business at USFSP. His research interests include forensic accounting, auditor liability, and international accounting.

Dr. Mark Pezzo is an Associate Professor in Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences at USFSP. His research focuses on judgmental biases. He examines the interface between motivational and cognitive processes (i.e., self-presentation vs. sensemaking) in a number of areas, including hindsight bias, planning fallacy, numerosity judgments, perceptions of offensiveness, and the spread of rumors. His most recent work has been moving toward more applied settings, including medical judgments.

Cost: Free. Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Series takes place in the Museum Theater.
