Museum Store and Gardens remain open for 30 minutes after closing.

Note: The Museum opens regularly at noon on Sunday and closes at 5:30pm on Fridays. We are pleased to offer extended hours during the Picasso/Dali, Dali/Picasso exhibition (Nov 8, 2014-Feb 16, 2015). Standard Museum hours will resume Feb 17, 2015.

The Genius Next Door: An interactive evening with the brightest minds in St. Petersburg

Get a rapid-fire grounding in the newest knowledge in science, art, education and business. The Genius Next Door gives audience members a unique opportunity to learn how the brightest minds in St. Petersburg are changing global landscapes.

This month’s guests:

Dr. AnnMarie Gunn is an Assistant Professor of Education at USFSP. Her reserach interests include literacy and reading instruction; culturally responsive literacy; and pre-service and in-service teacher education. In 2013, Dr. Gunn was the recipient of the Dr. Carlos J. Vallejo Memorial Award for Emerging Scholarship, given annually to a scholar who demonstrates a commitment to under-served communities and producing scholarship that advances multicultural and multi-ethnic education.

Dr. Karin Braunsberger is a tenured Professor of Marketing in the College of Business at USFSP. Dr. Braunsberger’s research interests include consumer behavior and consumer activism. Currently she is working on introducing marketing into the wildlife conservation area, consumer boycott behavior, and edible ethics. Due to her initiatives focusing on the advancement of social/environmental issues and civic engagement, she has been awarded the Bank of America Endowed Professorship for 2014/2015.

Cost: Free. Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Series takes place in the Museum Theater.
