Discussion: Dali & Music

Thursday, Mar. 02, 2–3pm
  • This event has passed.

We invite you to join us for an intimate discussion, Dali & Music, in anticipation of the Florida Orchestra’s Masterwork concert “The Dali Experience” on the weekend of March 3rd.

For this Community Partnership event, Dali Museum Curator of Education Peter Tush is joined by The Florida Orchestra Music Director Michael Francis to discuss and explore Spanish Surrealist Salvador Dali’s love of such composers as Wagner and De Falla and his lifelong interaction with the world of music. The conversation will be moderated by Dali Museum Executive Director Dr. Hank Hine. In addition, we are honored to have Spanish flamenco guitarist and composer Canizares on stage to perform a Dali-inspired piece as a prelude to his performance with the Florida Orchestra’s “Dali Experience.” This collaborative event, like the art and music being discussed, is sure to be provocative and engaging.

Cost: $10 (Parking and gallery admission not included in price)
Location: The Dali Museum Theater
Note: Traffic and parking are impacted by the upcoming Firestone Grand Prix.
Learn more and please plan accordingly for detours and alternative parking options.

Seating is limited to 95 guests
